From coffee to dinner, live the Naples food experience.

If your eyes are now filled with artistic and scenic beauty-from the Veiled Christ to the Old Town to the Mann and Capodimonte-it is time to experience Naples from another point of view, the culinary one.

In fact, the whole city is literally scattered with restaurants, trattorias, rotisseries, pizzerias, and pastry shops of absolute excellence, able to satisfy every need, from a quick snack of traditional street food to a dinner prepared by starred chefs.

Here are some food experiences made in Naples not to be missed when visiting the Neapolitan capital!

Breakfast with espresso and sfogliatella

The famous "tazzulella e' café" in Naples becomes even better when accompanied by a sfogliatella, a typical local dessert. You choose whether curly or shortcrust pastry. Coffee and sfogliata is one of the ways Neapolitans like to start their day, but it is also a true immersion in a deeply rooted local tradition. For the best start to a tour of local culinary experiences, there is nothing better than this pairing!

Walk with fried food stroll at the Old Town

Fragrant, crispy, delicious. If you stroll through the streets of Naples' Historic Center, the largest in Europe, you will literally be assaulted by the tantalizing smells produced by street food vendors. Street food has ancient roots in the city's customs and today it lives again, in a modernized version, in the legendary fried "cuoppo." Small arancini, crocchè, pasta cresciuta, as well as shrimp and anchovies, freshly fried and wrapped in the characteristic cone, once made from newspaper. If you step away from the Center to admire the wonderful maze of ancient streets, combine your walk with a nice Neapolitan-style fried cuoppo to feel 100% Neapolitan.

Aperitif at the Borgo marinari

The Borgo Marinari, on the waterfront of Via Caracciolo and near the entrance to Castel dell'Ovo, is one of the great "hidden" treasures of Naples. It is in fact one of the most romantic and picturesque places in the city, once an old fishermen's marina in the Santa Lucia district. The Borgo looks just like a miniature town in its own right, where you can breathe a unique atmosphere. The pace is calmer, the walk is pleasant and, between bars, you can enjoy an evening aperitif in a magical setting, between the castle that guards the small village, the lights that frame the Gulf and a breathtaking panorama.

Seafood dinner at Marechiaro

Lying by the sea, Naples has a very long tradition of recipes based on the catch of the day, now revisited and offered to Neapolitans and tourists by excellent restaurants that, in spectacular corners like Marechiaro, combine good food with the chance to dine in front of a breathtaking view. Raw fish, linguine with the catch of the day, paccheri al coccio, and the freshest seafood find their way into the wide range of local dining options.
